Q: What happens when I contact Hawk Private Investigations to initiate an assignment?
A: You will schedule a preliminary interview with one of our investigators at the Hawk Private Investigations' office location that is most convenient to you or by telephone. During this interview, the investigator will review the specifics of the case, explain the investigative process, identify possible outcomes, and answer any questions. If you choose to hire Hawk Private Investigations to manage your case after the preliminary interview has taken place, a contract will be signed and a case manager will be assigned to you immediately.
Q: Does proof of adultery really help me in court?
A: While proof of adultery may not be the “win all” that some people believe it to be, evidence obtained by a private investigator in this matter can greatly influence the outcome of settlement agreements.
Q: Is it legal to conduct a background investigation on a person without his/her consent?
A: Yes, if there is reasonable cause and a legitimate purpose for conducting the background investigation. However, without a release form signed by the individual, the background investigation is limited to the research of public records.
Q. What do I do when I suspect a computer may contain evidence pertinent to a crime, divorce, or other legal matter?
A. Immediately turn the computer off, and contact Hawk Private Investigations as soon as possible. Every single thing you do on a computer leaves a trace, but more importantly, you can accidently overwrite files that might be very valuable. We will make arrangements to get the computer into the hands of our trained computer forensics experts. We can often provide you with a cloned copy within 24 hours, thus limiting down time and/or securing evidence without the knowledge of the suspect.
Q: I am the president of a company with more than 200 employees, and we conduct business in a very competitive marketplace. It seems that confidential/ proprietary information is constantly being leaked to our competitors. What can your firm do to help us?
A: Hawk Private Investigations can conduct a technical surveillance countermeasures survey, which includes a thorough analysis of your company's telephone switch and desk set programming, one of your most vulnerable assets. This will either resolve the problem or eliminate a major avenue of concern, which allows you to resolve other possible information security breaches.
Q. What can I do to protect confidential company information?
A. You can conduct thorough background checks on your potential employees, especially if the position provides access to sensitive company information. Hawk Private Investigations can do this on your behalf as well as perform a risk analysis which will help pinpoint potential areas where confidentiality can be breached.
Q: I filed for divorce and have placed a temporary protection order against my husband because of his violent temper and abuse of alcohol. I feel threatened and believe he is stalking me. What can Hawk Private Investigations do to help?
A: We have qualified law enforcement personnel who will provide personal protection services until you feel the threat has subsided. In addition, we can have your husband placed under surveillance to determine if he is in violation of the temporary protection order.
Q: How does your team conduct surveillance without being detected?
A: Hawk Private Investigations has more than 20 years of experience in surveillance, and we are experts at remaining inconspicuous at all times. While stationary surveillance can be carried out by one person, whenever there is a possibility of mobile surveillance, we use a minimum of two investigators and vehicles. At times, depending on the difficulty of the assignment, we may have a many as six team members working together. All surveillance vehicles are equipped with digital two-way communication capabilities as well as state-of-the-art video and photograph equipment and navigation systems. When appropriate and legal, GPS tracking systems are used.
Q: We recently fired a high-level executive from our company. Unfortunately, he has made some comments to our employees that we perceive to be potential threats. What can you do for us?
A: First, Hawk Private Investigations would suggest immediate surveillance on the individual so that we know his whereabouts at all times. Then our research teams would conduct a thorough background investigation on the individual to determine if he has a history of workplace violence or any violent tendencies. If necessary and appropriate, we will assign executive protection specialists for personal protection for as long as necessary.
Q: What services can Hawk Private Investigations provide to smaller companies that do not have a security or risk management department?
A: After we conduct an assessment of your needs and potential threat levels, we will develop a plan for your company which includes a qualified security team that is available on demand at a cost far less than maintaining an in-house security department. Your account will be managed by former federal and state law enforcement employees.
